For the stressed, dizzy, Athenians, Nafplio is always a favorite destination, even for a one day excursion. After only one and a half hour by car from Athens, one can visit the old town, walk by the sea, enjoy the breathtaking view from the castle, drink coffee or have a delicious lunch and come back to the big city before midnight fresh and relaxed. Since last October, there is one more reason that makes Nafplio the right place to visit and this is Fougaro (which means smokestack).

My favorite online interior design magazines

Back in the not so far days without internet I anticipated impatiently the moment to buy my favorite monthly interior design  magazines. It was something that could make my whole weekend. I didn't have much to spend but I usually bought 3 to 4 magazines each month which I read again and again. I still read some of them since I keep many old issues on my shelves. The time has passed and the internet brought tons of house tours, how tos, deco tips and inspiration in our screens with just one click and most of all for free. At the same time things in Greece have changed so dramatically that buying magazines is considered now a small luxury for most people, for me too. So, thank God for the internet! And although the feeling of a real printed paper magazine in my hands, the smell of the ink and the sound of the turning pages is unsurpassed for me, despite the fact that I am a computer addicted person, I can but really enjoy the monthly releases of online interior design magazines. So here is a small list of my favorite online interior design magazines.

Goodbye my old home!

Everything is fine in our new home and little by little we are getting used in our new life. However at times I get really nostalgic about our old house and neighborhood. I feel the need to say goodbye. Although it wasn't our own and had its disadvantages, such as golden kithchy mermaids on the bathroom tiles and a dreadful built in shelf unit in the living room, it has been our home for eight years, our babies were born there, made their first steps there, talked their first words, went to school for the first time, played in the neighborhood, made their first friends. We also had great times there, some bad too of course. I want to  keep in my memory gatherings and laughs and parties with friends. By now, the apartment must look already very different, as new renters arrived on August. It makes me feel melancholic because for some reason I still feel it as ours, even if we are settling without problems here.
Looking at photos of my previous home, I realize how long it takes for a house to take its final look, suppose there is such thing as "final look" when we talk about a house, and how many things were left unfinished, in terms of decoration and organisation, despite the eight years we spent there.
