Since the weekend is ahead, here's a small tutorial for a rustic Christmas ornament in case you feel the urge to make something.
You will need
four small twiggs, as long as you want the sides of your frame to be
air dry clay
craft knife
toothpick
red wool thread
Knead the air dry clay and make a ball. Roll a glass jar over it in order to make it flat.
You will need to make it 1/2 cm thick.
With a craft knife cut a star. You can use a pattern, I did it free hand because I wanted it to have a more childlike style.
Use a toothpick to open holes following the outline of the star and making them wide enough for your thread to pass through.
Leave the star to dry, it may take a few days.
Form a frame with the twiggs and secure with a drop of hot glue in the corners.
Tie the corners with the red wool making an x shape.
When the star is dry you can sand it to smooth the surface.
Pass the thread through the holes
and when you are done hang the star on the frame with another piece of wool thread.

Very very cute - I should get some clay and have my kids make these. I have some twigs i think I could use for the frame. Think you could use the bakeable clay for this so they could be baked instead of letting them dry for a few days? I don't do so well with being patient enough to let it dry that long - LOL!
Jill I think bakeable clay could be equally suitable.

Super cute and rustic. I haven't used the air dry clay, but have used the baking soda clay for ornaments-you can make it your self and it air dries. Love your style, happy new follower :)
