Yesterday, for the first time in all the years I 've been spending a part of my summer holidays and a few weekends in this house, I grabbed a ladder and picked some olives. There are four olive trees in the garden. I picked olives from one of them which belongs to the Kalamon variety, suitable both for olive oil and as table olives. I picked them while they are still green, and will follow an easy but long procedure to make them edible.
It was a sunny, breezy morning, peace and quiet all around, and it was a really pleasant and relaxing activity I really enjoyed. I hope I will equally enjoy my olives because they will come out delicious when they are ready and that I won't have to throw them in the garbage bin.
I am adjusting pretty well to the country life, don't you think?
