Make with paint chips

It is a fact, when someone has the imagination and the inspiration needed, he can make truly beautiful little things using those that others throw away. Here's such a case I found on Go Make Something.Learn how you can use paint chip samples from wall paint companies to make cards, bookmarks and other stuff, here.

Here's another fun idea, using the same material: a paint chip garland.

If you click here you will learn how to make these cute little notebooks.

A search on Flickr brought these interesting results:

Greeting cards by Something to See

Cd covers by this is love forever

Another festive garland by paper ballet

Now you know what you will do the next time you pass by your neighbourhood's hardware store.

My favorite crafting magazine

My favorite crafting magazine is french Marie - Claire Idees. And I assure you, Marie - Claire has the best ideas when it comes to crafting. Those of you who are into crafting probably are already aware of the existence of this magazine. The rest should go and buy it immediately. It is quarterly, today I bought the spring issue. The day Marie - Claire Idees comes out, is always a good day. I haven't opened yet this issue, no no, I am going to restrain myself until I find some quite moment when the kids are asleep, to enjoy it as it deserves. You will find lots of inspiration in it with the most wonderful projects in many crafting categories, mainly decorative objects, but also knitting, sewing, furniture makeover, cooking, art de la table, jewerly and accessories making. Most of have a sweet, romantic, nostalgic style, inspired by old times, but under a fresh point of view. Even if you don't speak french, the pictures will keep you totally satisfied. There is also a Marie - Claire Idees blog. Every October the magazine organizes Le Salon Marie - Claire Idees in Paris, a crafting related exhibition, which I so want to visit some time. The pictures are from older issues of the magazine.

Jewelry again!

I 'm never bored to look at jewelry, no matter of style, as long as they 're creative and inspired. So here's what I found this time.
On Brevity, Anna Corpron's dynamic jewelry, influenced by graphic design, architecture, and modern fabrication techniques. They are made of contemporary materials such as acrylic and stainless steel.

On the opposite side it's meristem's handmade jewelry, bursting with color, made with a variety of materials, from silver and gemstones to fabric, crystals and thread in unexpected combinations.

Handcrafted bouquets

It's true that fresh flowers can change the mood and looks of a room in a minute but what about empty vases when fresh flowers are gone? It would be nice if you had something to put in them until the next fresh cut bouquet arrives. And maybe that something could be handmade by you. For example these pom pom flowers match perfectly a modern space and here you can learn how to make them.

If you know how to sew, Amy Butler offers a free pattern to make fabric leaves.

Craftstylish's suggestion is this white airy paper bouquet and here you will find its step by step tutorial.

This one on Craftershock is beautiful and to see the "how to" you have to click here.

But if you want them scented as well, then you have to choose these, made from the scented paper on magazine perfume advertisements. Found on Daily Danny.

Not just for Valentine's day

As Valentine's day (don't let me start) is getting close, here are some items one could relate to the day, but are more original than the usual stuff that we see every February. It's the love letters posters by Uppercase.

Awards

It seems that there are indeed some people who read this blog and some of them even find it interesting! During the last one and a half month I had some nice surprises. I have to apologize for not posting about this earlier. First it was rkdsign88 who gave me One Lovely Blog award. She makes the cutest drawings which you can find at her Etsy shop. Thank you rkdsign88!

One lovely award goes to:

Bonzie

Paper flower girl

Vintage Indie

Chichipiru

And the rules are:

1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs which show great Attitude and/or Gratitude!
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received your award.

A few days later Veronica Escudero passed me the Lemonade award. Veronica is a visual artist and you can find her work here. Thank you so much Veronica!

And the Lemonade award goes to:

Bab la bricoleuse

Hip and Handmade

Craftynest

Same rules as above, at least 10 nominees.

It proved that this month was award month because after a few days I received the Proximidade award which is described like this: This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes for self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!'

This one came from my home country and not once but three times! More specifically it arrived to me from Antigoni with her elegant jewelry, Creations by Eve with her colorful knits and Olive Tree Girl who wants to try every possible craft. So nice of you, ladies!

The Proximidade award passes to:

Foxy Thoughts

Star of the East

Indie-guest

Same rules, 8 nominees.

You have noticed that according to the rules I had to pass the awards to 7 to 10 other bloggers. I found this really hard to do for 3 awards, so you will forgive me that I passed every award to only a few ones. There are lots of gorgeous blogs out there that I'm aware of but it would be too time consuming for me right now to gather them here.
